Since childhood games imagining owning a Bed & Breakfast together, Hannah and Clara shared a special bond that would inspire them to come together as business partners years later. They are not only co-owners of Miss Match, but also first cousins, friends, and neighbors. Hannah and Clara’s family have deep roots in the High Country beginning with their great-grandfather moving from North Wilkesboro to purchase what is now referred to as Thunder Hill Farm off the Blue Ridge Parkway. He created this space to be a sanctuary for future generations to come and it has truly become that for Hannah and Clara who both live on the farm now.

Hannah and Clara are passionate about social justice and their love for the event industry is amplified by contributing to weddings that are inclusive of all kinds of families from every walk of life. Miss Match partners with non-profit organizations supporting the arts, youth, and LGBTQIA+ communities in the area. Their deep roots in the area inspire them to contribute to the community of western North Carolina in many ways.

Clara

Clara was born in Watauga County and grew up exploring the mountains as much as she could. After High School Clara left Boone and spent time travelling around the country working on different farms, and learning about sustainable agriculture.

She then spent some years going to school in Asheville but eventually her love of farming brought her back to Boone to live and work on the family land. She now is a mother of two and still is passionate about farming. She is an artist who loves adding beauty to the world and is thrilled to use that passion to create beautiful place settings.

Hannah

Hannah grew up in rural North Carolina with a love of design and traveling.  She studied interior design, but her passion for community took her to the classroom– she is now a full time special education teacher who cares deeply about supporting students with disabilities.

Hannah is so happy to call the high country home after years of planning and coordinating weddings throughout NC.  She brings her design background and task management skills to the Miss Match team.
